Built around movement, texture and classic Western detailing, this brown suede leather cowboy jacket for men is made from approximately 0.8mm goatskin suede. The leather is supple enough to let the fringe hang naturally while retaining the structure needed for the collar, pockets and long hip-length body.
Its warm brown shade has the soft, slightly varied appearance associated with genuine suede. Brushing the nap in different directions can temporarily produce lighter or darker areas, giving each jacket natural visual character rather than a completely uniform surface.
Long-cut suede fringe extends across the front chest, beneath the broad horizontal yoke. The decoration continues across the back yoke and runs along the outer shoulder and sleeve seams, allowing the strands to move while walking.
Both lower patch pockets also carry their own fringe panels. This layered arrangement gives the front a balanced appearance: prominent fringe across the chest, practical storage at the waist and another decorative section below each pocket opening.
The back remains relatively clean beneath its fringe yoke, with a central vertical seam shaping the large suede panel. Compared with more heavily decorated designs in our cowboy leather jackets collection, this style relies on leather texture and fringe rather than beads, embroidery or contrasting colors.
A wide pointed shirt collar gives the jacket an unmistakable ranch and cowboy profile. The front closes with four large silver-tone snap buttons placed along a straight suede placket. Their circular metal finish adds a subtle contrast against the brown leather without overpowering the jacket’s traditional appearance.
Two generously sized patch pockets are positioned on the lower front. Their open-top construction keeps everyday items within easy reach, while fringe stitched onto the outer pocket panels adds movement without obstructing the openings. One additional inside pocket provides more secure storage for a cardholder, keys or another compact belonging.
The sleeves finish with simple straight openings. There are no knitted cuffs or visible cuff straps, keeping the construction consistent with the jacket’s relaxed Western character.
Predominantly single-row, tone-on-tone topstitching outlines the pointed collar, front placket, chest yoke, patch pockets and sleeve panels. The brown thread blends naturally with the suede while still defining the jacket’s individual sections.
The chest and back fringe is secured beneath horizontal yoke seams rather than being attached loosely over the surface. Fringe along the arms follows the shoulder and outer sleeve construction, while the pocket fringe is held beneath stitched overlay panels. Additional stitching around the pocket edges supports the areas most frequently handled during wear.
A visible center-back seam divides the lower rear panel and helps maintain the jacket’s straight shape. The body ends in a clean hip-length hem without knitted ribbing, elastic or a waistband.

The straight body provides a relaxed shape suitable for wearing over a T-shirt, Western shirt or lightweight knit. Because the fringe already creates volume and movement, the jacket works best when the shoulders sit close to their intended position.
Wear it with faded denim and boots for a traditional Western outfit, or combine it with black jeans and a plain shirt for a simpler contemporary look. Before choosing a size, compare your chest, shoulder and sleeve measurements with the Leather Frontier size guide, allowing additional room if thicker layers will be worn underneath.
Do not machine-wash, soak or tumble-dry the jacket. Remove surface dust with a clean suede brush, working lightly and in a consistent direction. Brush carefully around the fringe attachment seams and pocket edges to avoid pulling the narrow leather strands.
Blot accidental moisture immediately with a clean absorbent cloth without rubbing. Allow the jacket to dry naturally on a supportive hanger, away from radiators, hair dryers and direct sunlight. Deep stains should be handled by a professional cleaner experienced with genuine suede garments.
Hang the jacket where the fringe can fall freely, then separate the strands gently with clean, dry fingers. A soft suede brush can be used carefully on wider strands, but avoid irons, heated tools and aggressive pulling.
A color-safe protector formulated specifically for genuine suede may provide some resistance to minor moisture and surface marks. Always test it on a hidden area first because treatment can darken the brown leather or alter the texture of its nap.
The raised fibers on suede reflect light differently depending on their direction. Normal handling can therefore create temporary lighter and darker sections, which can usually be blended by gently brushing the nap in one direction.
Use a broad hanger that supports the shoulders and leave enough wardrobe space for the fringe to hang without being compressed. Cover the jacket with a breathable fabric garment bag rather than plastic, which can trap moisture and restrict ventilation.
